The conference listened to the work report of the Standing Committee of the 14th Dongguan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference delivered by Zheng Jianmin, chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; the report on the proposal work since the third session of the 14th session delivered by Jiang Xiaoying, vice chairman of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; and commended the outstanding members, annual proposals, excellent (commendable) proposals, and advanced units in handling proposals in 2024.

Recently, the fluctuations in the global economic and trade situation, coupled with the uncertainty of domestic residents' income, have led to certain challenges to the upgrading pace of Dongguan's consumer market, especially the high-quality life pursuit and personalized consumption preferences showing a state of waiting to be stimulated. In view of the current consumption environment, Yu Xiunan, a member of the committee, put forward "Suggestions on stimulating the potential of Dongguan's consumer market." It is hoped that relevant policies will be formulated to improve residents' willingness to consume and activate the consumer market.
